Learning how to make iced matcha latte at home is simple, provided you have everything you need. Here’s our easy guide, giving you step-by-step instructions.
Iced Matcha: Step By Step Guide
  1. Choose your grade of Matcha. For lattes, we recommend our Organic Cocktail Grade Matcha from Kagoshima, Japan as we sell this in larger bags and it is the most accessible in price and means you can enjoy the taste of Matcha every day. Should you wish to use a higher grade – like our Organic Ceremonial Matcha from Fuji – then this also tastes delicious. Honestly, it’s up to you which you prefer.

2. Per 100ml of latte, use 1 AVANTCHA Matcha Measuring Spoon of Matcha. The average cup size is around 250ml, meaning you will need 2.5tsps of Matcha for the best Matcha iced latte. Sieve the Matcha through a fine strainer or press whisk down several times to break up and loosen the powder to create a consistent, lump-free powder that will mix well.

3. Whisk vigorously in an ‘M’ shape until you have a light and frothy foam.

4. Fill your glass with ice.

5. We’re often asked what the best milk to use for iced Matcha latte is, and we always have the same answer: whichever you like the best! Coconut is lovely if you would like to add another layer of flavour, whereas the fat content in whole milk adds sweetness or oat milk will add earthiness. Pour your milk of choice over the ice.

6. Pour your Matcha over the top and mix to incorporate or enjoy the layers it creates in the glass – warmer Matcha followed by a hit of cold milk.
